NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Weight Loss Counseling

Do you battle your weight, have tried everything, but just can’t seem to lose? Weight loss counseling may be just what you need. Weight loss counseling is unique in that it adds an element that is often neglected in traditional weight loss programs.

Weight loss counseling includes basic nutritional counseling in addition to mental health counseling. Mental health issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental illness often underlie binge eating and emotional overeating.

At Family Solutions, an integrated approach will be taken to focus on the underlying emotions, changing thought patterns, and creating new behaviors for sustainable and healthy weight loss.

Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are serious conditions related to persistent eating behaviors that negatively impact your health, your emotions, and your ability to function in important areas of life.

Eating disorders often develop in the teen and young adult years, although they can develop at other ages. With treatment, you can return to healthier eating habits and sometimes reverse serious complications caused by the eating disorder.

Comprehensive Care for treating Eating Disorders

Eating disorders come in many forms—and even then, no two patients are alike. At Family Solutions, we treat men and women, adolescents and children with all forms of eating disorders, including:

  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Binge Eating Disorder
  • Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)
  • Other Unspecified Eating Disorders
  • Mood & Anxiety Disorders
  • Co-Occurring Disorders

No matter which disorder you suffer from, at Family Solutions, you’ll have a multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and registered dietitians collaborating to provide you the customized care that you deserve and that gives you the best possible chance for recovery.

After you call us to schedule your first appointment, you’ll be assigned a licensed therapist. Your therapist will start by getting to know you and learning about the struggles you’re going through. They will want to know about the other doctors and other healthcare professionals you’ve seen so far. After your initial evaluation, your treatment plan will be established.
